Ok. So its a lazy Sunday morning. B-E-A-U-tiful day actually, and I am like. "Shit, I am so bored. What do I do? What do I do?".

Called up the brothers. Everyone seemed to be sleeping in. Rough week at work and all. :)

Ashish, though, made a genuine effort. However, some problem in the fuel supply of his Samurai. dammit. So rode out alone.

What a splendid ride it was! Overcast cloudy skies, massive tailwinds. Cold! Open 4 lane highways! Yum yum.

Rode to Maddur CCD. Then back to Maddur Tiffany's. Pulled over and had splendid Maddur Vadas and Parotas and PIPING hot coffee!

While riding back, crossed a whole team of superbikes. A 2008 Yammie R1, a 2007 CBR 1000 RR, a 2007 CBR 600 RR. Laughed inside the lid and carried on. Back to bangalore by 4 o clock in the evening. Short, splendid ride.

For that brief fleeting moment I only heard the insane rev of the motor alongside me and the fact that the guy was still leaning into his curve to squeeze into the gap between Eleanor's front tire and the truck. I engaged the clutch, slowly depressed the front brakes to gently lean away from the maniac.

The dude on the R15 thought I had given way. Smirking under the lid, I let the truck get out of the way, revved the engine all the way to the 9ks, got alongside the R15, looked at him from behind my Fasttracks, mouthed "hasta la vista baby", and holding the throttle wide open gently released my pressure on the brake lever...

I could only see his jaw drop open as a 14 bhp, 13.5 Nm bike which had a stock everything, and at the moment was riding alongside, shot like a cannon on amphetamines, and made his "bigger" machine look like a toy. By the time he engaged his third, I had already whipped his arse black and blue. And everything in between.

Mu ha ha ha ha ha.

I have never felt more out of sorts, more out of place and more out of sync than when I was in law school.

Yet, just a couple of minutes back when I was seeing the snaps of the people from college, I craved to be back there one more time, just once, just for the sake of seeing the old familiar faces again.

For the love of God, it is not supposed to be like this! I am supposed to be strong and independent. Yet I was almost reduced to tears when I saw Her snap. All the poets are right. First Love. It was indeed very very special.

Some of these guys are married. Some soon to be. Most have put on weight. Some unimaginably! Yet, it is and was US! We made the school. We saw it grow. We saw it being made in front of our eyes. We are NUJS. A motley group of 150 odd people nurturing the hope that the seed they are planting today will grow into a mighty banyan tree.

There is something deep within which is gnawing at the very root of the subliminal existence which we now boast of. Something that we can see, can perceive, yet cannot complain about, because it is not out in the open.

Take everywhere, for example.

These ridiculous bans that are cropping up everywhere. In Mumbai, you have to write the name of your establishment in Marathi.

You cannot dance in a disc in Bangalore (or smoke for that matter, being a smoker, I am in two minds about it, but at least it is for a general good cause, and its pan India, so understandable). You have to be home by 11 30. You have to have a valid reason why you are sitting on a rock all alone at 10 00 in the night. Some minister says drinking alcohol should be banned, and people should drink milk instead (?????).

In West Bengal, one single woman, in order to pursue her own selfish needs, makes a mockery of the whole system, and causes unquantifiable losses to the state. Needless to mention, the land which has been acquired will STILL not be given back. Good news no?

This is all with a purpose! Streak, I hate to say this. But the purpose is to create an outflux. The purpose is to send the non - indigenous people back "where they came from". You want more examples? Take a look at Orkut! You have alarming communities on the web which says "Bangalore is full, Go back"!

The question is, should we, the man on the road, sit back? Should we let the other people, aided by a bunch of nincompoops who dare to call themselves the government and/ or the opposition rule our lives?

Should we not take a stand, and speak loud and clear, India is one. It should be one, and those who oppose it, pick them off the streets and mutilate them in public.

Autocracy has its cons, but I guess that is what is needed now.

Its a pressure cooker situation in here, and somebody desperately needs to take up the reins!

the Yamaha FZ150, apparently, has been rechristened the FZ16 before the launch. Guess all that R&D expertise of Yam is definitely feeding off now. it has a respectable 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder, 2-valve engine, which produces 14 Ps at 7500 rpm and 14 N.m. of torque at 6000 rpm. Nice figures I say!

the specs are up at Indian on 2 Wheels. Go check. A decent powerband to experiment with. Going by the recent trend that that delightful and fun bike, the RTR 160, has brought into the Indian Market of late, "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday", this would be a nice little step up before the Baby Ninja hits the market.

Oh well, bring 'em on!!
