Happy Birthday Baby! (though a trifle late) :(

Solo RIde to Maddur :)

Ok. So its a lazy Sunday morning. B-E-A-U-tiful day actually, and I am like. "Shit, I am so bored. What do I do? What do I do?".

Called up the brothers. Everyone seemed to be sleeping in. Rough week at work and all. :)

Ashish, though, made a genuine effort. However, some problem in the fuel supply of his Samurai. :( dammit. So rode out alone.

What a splendid ride it was! Overcast cloudy skies, massive tailwinds. Cold! :D Open 4 lane highways! Yum yum. :D

Rode to Maddur CCD. Then back to Maddur Tiffany's. Pulled over and had splendid Maddur Vadas and Parotas and PIPING hot coffee! :D

Photo session ensued, stole some ideas off the Slayer. All snaps up on http://picasaweb.google.com/sagnik.ghose/MaddurTiffanySSoloRide#. A few of the choiciest ones here.

While riding back, crossed a whole team of superbikes. :D A 2008 Yammie R1, a 2007 CBR 1000 RR, a 2007 CBR 600 RR. Laughed inside the lid and carried on. Back to bangalore by 4 o clock in the evening. Short, splendid ride.

More of these soon! :D

In our headlights, staring, bleak, beer cans, deer's eyes
on the asphalt underneath, our crushed plans and my lies
lonely street signs, powerlines, they keep on flashing, flashing by

and we keep driving into the night
it's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye
and we keep driving into the night
it's a late goodbye

your breath hot upon my cheeck, and we crossed, that line
you made me strong when I was feeling weak, and we crossed, that one time
screaming stop signs, staring wild eyes, keep on flashing, flashing by

and we keep driving into the night
it's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye
and we keep driving into the night
it's a late goodbye

the devil grins from ear to ear when he sees the hand he's dealt us
points at your flaming hair, and then we're playing hide and seek
I can't breathe easy here, less our trail's gone cold behind us
till' in the john mirror you stare at yourself grown old and weak

and we keep driving into the night
it's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye...

Dedicated to one of the best things to have ever happened to me. :)

it's not the size of the bike we ride that makes us what we are. It's the size of our hearts!

Dan Bateman

So so so so so true! Why o Why do people hold us as irresponsible, long haired, leather jacket worn bad assed monsters when most of us are nice, married (some with kids), soft spoken, responsible, good hearted human beings!

For that brief fleeting moment I only heard the insane rev of the motor alongside me and the fact that the guy was still leaning into his curve to squeeze into the gap between Eleanor's front tire and the truck. I engaged the clutch, slowly depressed the front brakes to gently lean away from the maniac.

The dude on the R15 thought I had given way. Smirking under the lid, I let the truck get out of the way, revved the engine all the way to the 9ks, got alongside the R15, looked at him from behind my Fasttracks, mouthed "hasta la vista baby", and holding the throttle wide open gently released my pressure on the brake lever...

I could only see his jaw drop open as a 14 bhp, 13.5 Nm bike which had a stock everything, and at the moment was riding alongside, shot like a cannon on amphetamines, and made his "bigger" machine look like a toy. By the time he engaged his third, I had already whipped his arse black and blue. And everything in between.

Mu ha ha ha ha ha.

Eleanor! I love to take her dancing. :)

i repeat.

I HATE IRRESPONSIBLE BIKERS.

AND SHOULD I CATCH HOLD OF ONE SOMEDAY, I AM GOING TO GET DOWN FROM ELEANOR, CATCH HOLD OF THE BLOODY SOB, AND BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF HIM.

PROBABLY MOW HIM DOWN OR SOMETHING.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

AND YES, I HATE BANGALORE.

it is so very simple. yet people do not understand. if you have a machine behind you which is bigger, faster and willing to go ahead, kindly and please allow him to go ahead of you. provided you have the space to move, of course.

please do not frustrate the rider by pottering around at 20 kmph with both your feet dangling off the edge of your scooty trying to support yourself. MOVE. OR GET OUT OF THE WAY.

because if you do not, he will certainly get aggressive. and more often than not, he can (and probably will) rev over the 9k rpm mark and scare the living daylights out of you. so please. spare me the calisthenics and get out of my way.

point taken? no? *sigh*

pointless rant, yet again.

You will screw up your eyes against the oncoming wind.

You will risk that one thing that is indispensable to your existence.

You will inhale the smoke, carbon, dust and what nots.

You will take a risk of crashing into something because your eyes were screwed shut from the oncoming wind and dust.

You will risk putting other commuters at risk because you were coughing from the smoke which billowed into your face.

HOWEVER,

YOU WILL NOT WEAR A DAMN HELMET.

You are the breathing, kicking (albeit in your deathbed) representation of a species of bird which has long gone out of existence.

You are a Dodo.

UPDATE TO THE ABOVE POST: I HAVE NO (ALSO READ ZILCH, NADA, ZERO) SYMPATHY FOR HELMETLESS BIKERS. NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT HAVE ANY REGARD FOR THEIR OWN LIFE, THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY REGARD FOR OTHER'S LIVES AS WELL. AND FOR THAT REASON ALONE, THEY SHOULD BE PUBLICLY HUMILIATED.

MIGHT I ADD, HUMILIATED BY THE PEOPLE.
the Yamaha FZ150, apparently, has been rechristened the FZ16 before the launch. Guess all that R&D expertise of Yam is definitely feeding off now. it has a respectable 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder, 2-valve engine, which produces 14 Ps at 7500 rpm and 14 N.m. of torque at 6000 rpm. Nice figures I say!

the specs are up at Indian on 2 Wheels. Go check. A decent powerband to experiment with. Going by the recent trend that that delightful and fun bike, the RTR 160, has brought into the Indian Market of late, "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday", this would be a nice little step up before the Baby Ninja hits the market.

Oh well, bring 'em on!!

:)

Sometimes I wonder why the websites have a "Comments" Section at all! I mean, look at the comments section on any site:

For example, was checking a site where they had evidently, "scoops" of the new Yamaha, FZ 150, supposedly launching soon, (may I add, an amazing looking bike, and if those figures may be believed, does not have too bad a powertrain also!), and I came across this comment:

Sagar raut Says:
March 12th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

What will be the price of this bike & When yamaha is going to lunch?

How the hell do I know when Yam goes for Lunch? Maybe at 1 or 1 30 or so. Go figure... I guess he was saying Launch...

I tell you, it is a strange world.

For now, some sample snaps of the beauty, which, my friend Max believes may not be entirely faithful to what the real product may be like. Oh well, Max knows all!

:)

Yunjoy!

In today's world, luck, thrill and safety take a second place to efficiency, concentrate more on that. Get the job done, it feels just as good, has a charm of its own, and you don't feel run down with a headache and a pain in your wrists!

recently started reading his blog... so totally love it! the above quote is SO SO SO SO SO true!

Rearset has come up with excellent, excellent posts on the new launches at the India Auto Expo 2008. Worth a read for any automobile enthusiasts!

Sample this snap... would you want this beauty under you (though that color... that color) as you zoom along at a 150 on the highway?

I saw death in the face... and I laughed at it... zooming and cutting corners, showing them the million red dots which would light up the face of Him when he realises that I am gone, faster than the wind... horsing through the incredible stretch of nothingness which divides the man from the boys...

I am a Rider.
